Recent Sahuarita Food Bank at the Good Shepherd News:
The Sahuarita Food Bank at Good Shepherd
is moving along smoothly under the able leadership of Marilyn Hosea
feeding 25 to 30 families a month.
The anticipated food bank
at the planned community center in Sahuarita will not happen due to the
economic conditions facing the county. If there is to be expansion of
the Food Bank to further serve the region in and around Sahuarita, it
will fall upon The Good Shepherd to initiate it.
Projects
ahead include new shelving in the storage closet and a method of cooling
the closet to adhere to standards. Collaboration with the Green Valley
Food Bank will allow us to pick up produce each Thursday at 9:00. Along
with the Mission Board, the Sahuarita Food Bank at Good Shepherd will
be working to coordinate with the National Church’s Food Justice
initiative from 11/1 to 11/11/11.
